As I sit here and enter the last blog entry of the year I am smiling and crying. This year has been truly amazing for so many reasons. My Kindergarten Friends have grown to be outstanding citizens. They love and care for one another and most importantly they have developed an amazing love of learning!
My friends reminded me today that over the summer, "You better read for 20 minutes a day and write it on your reading log." Now this is why I LOVE KINDERGARTEN!
Thank you all for supporting me, Mrs. Stinard, and your children. It has been an honor to be their teacher.
Also thank you for all of the amazing gifts and cards that you have given to us the last two days. We love everything and appreciate your generosity.
Some information: For the morning class, we were having so much fun that we forgot to pass out pencil boxes. If you would like to pick up your child's pencil box they will be in the office until Monday.
My blog will be running through the summer, and I will post when Baby Chiaverotti arrives. :)
Thanks again for an amazing year of learning!
Mrs. Chiaverotti

They've Hatched!
The butterflies, not Mrs. Chaiverotti~ Ha~ ha~
This morning we arrived at school to find that two butterflies had hatched. While the morning class was observing the butterflies they observed one actually hatch right in front of their eyes!

Summer Reading
As this wonderful and amazing school year comes to a close I want to remind all of our Rainbow Valley readers and their families that there are several public library locations in Virginia Beach. These are a GREAT resource for summer reading. Please visit them.
Did you know that a child needs to read at least five books over the summer to maintain what he or she has learned during the school year? If they don't this can put them behind in September by 2-3 months. Can you afford for this to happen?
John B. Dey encourages summer reading. Your child can participate in the JBD summer reading program. If you are not sure how, let me know.
Here are some great sites to keep the spark of reading ignited for our kids and to help to inform you about summer reading.

Magnificant Monday
It is so hard to believe that today was our last Monday.
The morning and afternoon classes both continued their work on creating poetry images using their senses.
We also enjoyed a few new fun things to do during Daily Five. Puppets, Legos, arts and crafts to name a few.
