Welcome Back!

I am very excited to see my kindergarten friends tomorrow! I hope that everyone had a safe and fun Spring Break!

This week we will continue to learn about the 3Rs.   We will also be moving into adding and subtracting.  We will be creating and solving number stories, adding up using ten frames, and using literature tie ins each day.

During our first week back we will be really working on making our writing SHINE!  Making sure our writing makes sense and are interesting.  Using an uppercase letter at the beginning of the sentence , ending with periods, making I uppercase when it is all alone, going back and rereading, and adding magic buttons, and using describing words are the areas where we will be focusing our time and energy.  You can encourage these strategies for homework time as well.

Homework was sent home to each family via E-mail the week before Spring Break. Please make sure your child's writing homework is returned to school every Friday in addition to the math work. :)
Math pages will be sent home tomorrow.

If you didn't receive the homework E-mail please let me know. Also, check your junk mail.
I used the E-mail address that you provided in September.  If this has changed please let me know.
Thanks so much!

Thursday is our field trip to Botanical Gardens.  Rain or shine, we go! If it's going to be sunny and hot, please put sunscreen on your kiddo. I am not permitted to apply sunscreen.
Your child will arrive back at school and go home from there.  If your child normally goes home on a bus or to a daycare both will be there to take them home or to daycare. If you choose to pick your child up there will be a sign out sheet at the office that you must fill out.
We will have EDK.

Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately.  If they have a KINGSTON shirt or a blue shirt to wear that would be helpful.  If it's cold, well, we will make due in whatever colors.
Please be sure that they have a lunch and drinks with their name on them.  Please make sure their lunch is in a bag that can be disposed of.  We can't have open drinks and food on the bus.

If you are a chaperone please arrive to Kingston on time and meet us in the classroom. I will assign you a group of children. :)

I am excited for this learning event.  Thank you for your support and please let me know if you have questions.
