Learning!

We enjoyed reading and discussing How Full Is Your Bucket yesterday and today.
We learned what it means to be a Bucket Filler and Bucket Dipper.
We like to see Bucket Filling. Please ask your child about this at home. They  should be practice bucket filling at home as well as at school.

When we are working together we get more learning done!
Today, we learned more about citizenship and how we are each unique!
Ask your child how they are unique.

Yesterday we started small group learning stations.  The children are learning how to stay on task while working with a partner. They are also learning how to follow directions.
It was amazing to see them so engaged in their learning just 3 days into kindergarten.
Person A takes out the bucket while person B prepares the table.  The children move from left to right on the station chart. Our goal will be to have 3-4 small group rotations per day. For now we are working on language arts stations.  Soon, math stations will be implemented.
In math we are working on counting and talking about the importance of numbers in our world. Many of my friends came in today and shared where they found numbers at home.
On their microwaves, stoves, on the front of their houses, mailboxes, on the wipes container!
As you are out and about please encourage your child to look for numbers.
While we are working on numbers one-ten, it't nice to talk about the teens and numbers beyond. :)

Two out of three of our small groups were assigned IPADs.  The rest will be assigned an IPAD tomorrow.  Today, some of my friends logged into Seesaw.  You will be seeing a selfie in their Seesaw portfolio.
We will continue to add work into their portfolios as they become more proficient at using the tool.
Scanning a QR code and learning how to use the camera is BIG TIME FOLKS!
As of today, the kids are unable to see the comments you are adding. This will come in time.
I will let you know when we are there and you may begin to add comments and or show them what you said when they get home.

If you have not submitted all of the paperwork sent home by the office please do so by tomorrow.
Thank you!

I have tried to call every family. If you have not heard from me you will. :)
