We read the story I Love My Hair. The children are learning about the 5 Ws. When we ask questions before, during, and after reading, it helps us to remember the story.

We have started our first authors study!
Donald Crews is a famous author and illustrator. The children read one of his brightly illustrated stories Freight Train. We practiced asking questions as we read.
Through an interest inventory I learned that we have many friends who like to learn about transportation and vehicles. Donald Crews loves to write about these topics. In our reading station I have added many Donald Crews books for the children to read during their independent reading time.
