FROM OUR ROOM PARENTS

Hello Parents,

In an effort to continue to spark an interest in being a great citizen, it is important for our children to take an active part in helping our community and our country. During the month of November our class is going to collect supplies for troops serving overseas and will send them in time for Thanksgiving. We are calling this effort “Sending Thanks To Our Troops At Thanksgiving!”

We have been in touch with a local SEAL team deployed until April and asked for a list of supplies the men need/want. The following is the list we received from the command:

  • Ground coffee (not instant)
  • Powdered mix for water (because plain water is boring after the 1000th bottle!)
  • Kind bars
  • Protein bars
  • Protein powder packets
  • Hot Sauce
  • Turkey/beef jerky
  • Foot powder
  • Wool socks
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Popcorn
  • Nuts
  • Wet wipes
  • Candy that doesn't melt (specifically gummy worms and gum)

Your participation is completely optional! Any donation can be dropped off in Mrs. Chiaverotti’s classroom, or you may send it in with your child. The command was sincerely appreciative of our effort and couldn’t thank us enough for supporting the troops protecting our country.

Please contact us with any questions. If you need help locating any of the items on the list, we will be happy to direct you to where they can be purchased. Thank you for considering participating in this project. We are truly excited to see our children take an active role in this project and the lessons they will learn from it!

Warmly,

Tracy and Cortney
