Money, Retelling, STEM Night

The children are learning to identify coins and their values.
We are working with money daily. Please review daily classwork that comes home in your child's folder. :)
Please continue to take out coins at home and ask your child to add up.
We always begin counting up using the coin that has the highest value.
For example, if we have a nickel and four pennies. We begin counting and saying, "Five cents, six cents, seven cents, etc...
When we have more than one cent we say cents.  Some of my friends are having difficultly counting from a dime to a penny. They like to say 10, 20.
I have introduced all of the coins to the children. We will focus on the dime and quarter this week.

They love these songs!

I hope that everyone liked the books I sent home last week. These are great tools to use for reading high frequency words in context, review short vowel words, digraphs, and blends that we have learned during word study. AND RETELLING!
Fluency is an area that we work on each day. We are learning to avoid ROBOT READING.

STEM NIGHT
TUESDAY, 6:30-7:30PM

Pictures will go home to each family on Monday. If you want to purchase them please do so in a timely manner. If you don't want them, send them back in a timely manner. Mrs. Urch's time is best spent working with the children, not dealing with picture collecting.  I appreciate your help with this.

AND THANK YOU FOR THE BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED CLASS DOOR! I LOVE IT!
I AM SO THANKFUL FOR EACH OF MY KIDS AND EACH OF MY PARENTS. YOU MEAN SO MUCH TO ME! MY DOOR WARMED MY HEART!
